Susan Carol
I’m a qualified and experienced social worker with a career that began in 1996. Over the past two decades, I’ve remained passionate and committed to helping people navigate complex social care systems with empathy, creativity, and practical support. I’m driven by problem-solving and thrive in the ever-changing landscape of social work, where adaptability and innovative thinking are essential.
What I Do
As an independent social worker, I provide specialist services to private clients and their families, as well as advice and support to organisations and professionals on adult social care matters. I work across the Northeast and North Yorkshire in person and offer telephone and online support across the UK.
My Specialist Areas
I have extensive experience in adult care, with a particular focus on mental health, mental capacity, and safeguarding adults. I regularly carry out Care Act and mental capacity assessments and support clients in accessing the right services for their needs. I also offer ongoing monitoring and reviews to ensure those needs continue to be met over time.
Since 2007, I’ve worked extensively under the Mental Capacity Act, conducting complex assessments, publishing articles, and delivering training to professionals. My role has also included being a Safeguarding Lead Officer, and advising senior management as a Principal Social Worker, helping to shape high standards in social work practice.
