ISPAS - International Society of Performance Analysis of Sport 

"Performance Analysis is an objective way of recording performance so that key elements of that performance can be quantified in a valid and consistent manner."

The ISPAS exists to provide an infrastructure of professionalisation, information and training opportunities for all Performance Analysts, whether they be interested amateurs, professional consultants or academics.

The Mission of Institute of Technology Carlow to Engage, Learn, Challenge and Innovate is articulated through an educational environment and context where learners pursue studies in higher education and research up to doctoral level. Through a culture of enquiry, innovation and excellence we challenge our learners, staff, global collaborative partners and other stakeholders to create, apply and share knowledge and values in a supportive and vibrant university-level Institute. Engagement with business, government, community and voluntary sectors defines the Institute of Technology Carlow’s leadership role in the development of our region and nation.

With a student population of approx. ,7000, IT Carlow has a diverse portfolio of over 80 taught programmes to Level 8 on the NFQ, 7 taught programmes to Level 9 on the NFQ, a growing research portfolio to Doctoral level (Level 10 NFQ) in the Sciences and Technology, and an emerging research platform in the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.IT Carlow’s current student diversity is reflected in its mix of traditional leaving certificate entrants, a growing European and international student body, an increasing proportion of mature students and learners from disadvantaged backgrounds, as well as a significant number of part-time learners.

A particular area of focus for IT Carlow since 2010 has been the development of postgraduate studies.  IT Carlow hasdeveloped a suite of Masters programmes including an MSc in Sports Performance Analysis programme which has strong links with ISPAS.
