The Speak Up Club is a social enterprise working to empower women as leaders in business and the community.
How do we do it? By teaching confidence and tackling the fear of speaking in public.
It's not enough for women to have a seat at the table, it's not enough to lean in--we need to lean in and speak up!
Whatever your profession, you need to invest in training in the skills you need. Speaking well--be it around the table at a meeting, giving a presentation or a keynote speech at a conference--underlines your expertise and authority. Speaking well is an essential tool for any woman who wants to be a leader.
Deanna O’Connor is the founder of The Speak Up Club. After spending most of her career writing for and editing magazines, she has worked on everything from Irish Tatler and Xposé, to Business & Finance, and has MC-ed at Dublin Tech Summit, and numerous business networking events and awards. She is a certified #IAmRemarkable facilitator, and a firm believer in the power of women.
