Waterford Film Centre

Waterford Film Centre is an arts co-op supported by Waterford Council based in Forum Studios in The Glen. We are dedicated to encouraging and supporting film production in this area. We promote a creative and inclusive space via film creation, workshops, building and creating networks, culminating in this annual comedy and sci-fi film festival.

WFC’s festival mission is to present Ireland’s most exciting, hilarious and entertaining independent annual film festival, connecting and stimulating audiences and artists through a carefully curated selection of the best comedy and science-fiction films, to create a unique shared cultural experience, rooted in Waterford, open to the world. By curating and presenting a programme of exceptional films created by science-fiction and comedy enthusiasts, we present films that are accessible to all. Between science-fiction and comedy, there will be film works that everyone will enjoy and will root for to win a prize.

Our ambition is to be the festival of choice in Ireland for filmmakers in these niches and to continue to create an annual festival of the latest and best local, national and international cinema for artists and audiences. This year's festival has received entries from all over the world - entrants from continental Europe, Argentina and the USA have entered, with many filmmakers having over twenty years experience in the industry. The Drive-In Movie event is the only in-person event this year, for obvious reasons but in the future, the festival will be celebrated all over Waterford City.
