Set up an online-only event

Use Eventbrite to create and host online events. When you create your event, set the location to “Online”. This lets you set up a dedicated online event page to show the links to your webinar, livestream, and other resources attendees need. Only registered attendees can access that page.

Set up your online event page

Your “online event page” is a dedicated page for registered attendees. Add everything they need for your event, like links to your webinar, livestream, and other resources. Only attendees who registered for your event are able to view the online event page.

1. Set your event’s location to “Online”.

Create an online event:

  1. Go to Manage my events in your account.

  2. Select “Create event”.

  3. Select “Online” (under “Location”).

  4. Save your changes.

For Premium users with Eventbrite Music, select “Online” (under “Venue”).

2. Go to “Online event page”.

3. Add your livestream, webinar, and more to this page.

Add any resources attendees need to attend your event. Add live video with Eventbrite's Zoom integration or link to another video provider.

Then, edit the look and feel of your online event page.

  • Add text, images, video, or links to your page.

  • Click the pencil to edit the visibility.

  • Rearrange sections with the up-down arrows.

  • Click the trash can to delete a section.

The online event page stays live after your event.

4. Optional: Disable your online event page.

If you don't want to use the online event page, click Page settings. Then disable the online event page.

If you disable the online event page, update your confirmation email and create custom reminders so attendees know how to join your event.

5. Optional: Change your access settings.

By default, attendees need to sign in to view your online event page. To change this, go to Page settings. Then choose between:

  • Ticket holders only — Only registered attendees can view the online event page.

  • Anyone with the link — Anyone can view the online event page without signing in.

Only choose Anyone with the link if you’re comfortable with people who haven’t registered viewing this page.

6. Save your changes.

Click Preview attendee event page to see what your attendees will see. You can make changes to this page at any time (even after publishing your event).

6. Finish creating your event.

Before publishing your event, make sure to:

  • Go to “Details” and add an event image, summary, and description.

  • Go to “Tickets” and create free or paid tickets for your event.

  • Review your event details and make your event live under “Publish”.

Understand your attendee’s experience

1. Attendees find and register for your event.

Because your event is online, attendees all over the world can register for it. They'll even see the time of your event in their timezone so they know when to attend.

2. Attendees get a link to your online event page.

Attendees can find your online event page from:

  • The confirmation email they get after registering

  • The event listing on Eventbrite (after registering)

  • The email reminders they get before the event

3. Attendees sign in to view your content.

By default, attendees must log in with their Eventbrite account to view the online event page.

When they get to the online event page:

  • If they are logged in with the correct account, they see your content.

  • If they aren’t logged in or they logged in with an incorrect account, they're prompted to sign in again.

This page is for your attendees. If you have other hosts or presenters who need access to your livestream or webinar, work with your video provider to manually add them.
