Introduction to Performing Poetry with Erin Fornoff

Using structures of personal narrative and fragmentary memory, we will craft poems and then experiment with voice, tone, and pace to bring our poetry off the page and into performance. Suitable for beginners as well as more experienced poets

Erin Fornoff published her first poetry collection Hymn to the Reckless (Dedalus Press) in 2017, which was shortlisted for the Shine/Strong Award and named by The Millions as a Must Read, as well as a chapbook Folk Heroes (Stewed Rhubarb Press).  She has performed her poetry at hundreds of festivals and events including three times at Glastonbury Festival and commissioned for RTE Culture Night at Dublin Castle. She has featured on BBC3 and her poems have been included in Best New English and Irish Poets 2016.  She has received Arts Council Literature Bursaries, Project Awards, and Agility Awards for her novel, residency, and play. Her essays have been featured in Rogue, The Irish Times, Architecture Ireland, and Winter Papers. Her performed epic poem ‘We Are An Archipelago’ featured in the 2022 Dublin Fringe Festival and received a four star review in the Irish Times. She recently featured in Ireland Is, a national poetry tour across Ireland, and was the Writer in Residence for Ireland's Inland Waterways.
