Join Women In Research Ireland (WIRI) for a lunchtime discussion on the first black studies module in Ireland

When: Friday, June 12, 1 - 2 pm Dublin TimeWhere: Zoom (link sent to attendees prior to event)Join Women in Research Ireland as we welcome Dr. Ebun Jospeh and 3 former students who will share their experiences and impressions after taking the black studies module at UCD (University College Dublin) . Following the talk, they will answer questions from attendees. Event is free and open to all. About the event:What is Black studies and why is it important? Former students from the first Black studies module taught in Ireland by Race relations consultant, Dr Ebun Joseph will be speaking about the different aspects of black studies, what they learnt from the module and the ways this knowledge has influenced them. They will also discuss aspects that might be important for others new to Black studies. Dr Joseph and her students will be available to answer questions on the need for black studies and also highlight how little changes can make a difference in how we think, teach and talk about African and people from the continent.
