Brigit: Dublin City Celebrating Women is a Dublin City Council initiative dedicated to celebrating the stories and achievements of women from all walks of life, past and present, and inspiring women for the future.

Brigit 2025: Dublin City Celebrating Women

The fourth edition of Brigit: Dublin City Celebrating Women returns from Friday, 31st January to Monday, 3rd February 2025, offering an exciting and diverse celebration of women’s contributions to culture, society, and history.

Join us for a unique cycle pilgrimage to the hidden Brigit's Well in Phoenix Park, led by Dr. Karen Ward, co-rediscoverer of Brigid's Way. Beginning at the Chesterfield Avenue entrance near a Dublin City bike station, we will set our intentions as a 'mini tribe' and cycle together through the park, stopping along the way to hear the stories and legends of St. Brigit, a timeless inspiration to women throughout the ages.As we journey to the well, Karen will reflect on Brigit’s enduring influence and how her legacy continues to empower modern women. Upon arrival, we will take part in a special Cleansing Ceremony, using the pure spring water of Brigit's Well to refresh and renew ourselves. The ceremony will be accompanied by song, and you are invited to bring your Brigit crosses to bless in the waters, connecting with her healing energy.This event offers a peaceful and meaningful way to honour Brigit’s spirit while embracing the beauty of Phoenix Park.This tour involves cycling. Bicycle rental is not included and participants will need to bring their own bike and ensure they are wearing Hi-Vis vest and suitable gear. Participants who book for this event will require to sign a liability waiver.
