Honouring the iconic Dublin literary figure, Brendan Behan, on what would have been his 102nd birthday. Join us on the day for a walking tour, screenings, talks, and live music, all inspired by Behan’s wit, artistry, and indelible mark on Irish culture.

FILM ONE: 2pmStrange Vibe Films Presents: The ExecutionAn adaptation of The Execution by Brendan Behan from his book of short stories, After the Wake. Directed by Colm Quearney, featuring a talented cast from the North Inner City.This short film was made as a community project with the support of Bradog Community Centre, Dublin. It was filmed in Dublin with actors from the North Inner City Area. Narrated by Jack Lynch. (further info below).Run Time: 10 minutes FILM TWO: 2.30pmBargaintown is a prescient meditation on urban decay made by young German filmmaker David Jazay in Dublin in 1988. Featuring interviews with antique dealers, barbers and barmen – it is a record of the lives and opinions of a vanished Dublin, years before the celtic tiger changed its very fabric.
