Let your feet do the walking and your poetry do the talking! With a notebook and pen, join Anne Tannam on a morning stroll as we find poetic inspiration dotted throughout the Drumcondra Triangle.Originating in Japan, a Poetry Ginko refers to a mediative walk or stroll, typically in nature, that inspires the writing of haiku poetry. Haiku poems are wonderfully easy to learn how to write and great fun, too!There’ll be chatting, there’ll be writing, there’ll be fascinating titbits about the history of the the area, and there’ll be tea and biscuits!General Guidelines<ul><li>We’ll stop at various stages along the way for a reflection, prompt, and time for writing. There is an invitation to quietness during writing and some sections along the journey</li><li>This is an invitation to turn off your phones for the duration of the walk. The fewer distractions, the more you will notice the surroundings and your response.</li><li>There will also be plenty of time for chatting and getting to know each other</li><li>Feel free to wander off and explore during your writing time—it’s your time to use it as you please.</li></ul>The walk will take in 8 stops over the short distance between Home Farm Road and Griffith Park. At each stop we will enjoy a short local history to help prompt interactive discussion and poetic inspiration. We expect to take approximately 15 minutes per stop and along this leisurely route we will also allow time for refreshments. All are welcome to come along!
