Seminar 3 in the Royal Irish Academy and Irish Research Council seminar series concerning 'Research for Public Policy'.

The creation of a new Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science and the foundational role of public health expert advice in managing the COVID-19 crisis make this the ideal moment to reimagine and strengthen the connections between research and public policy in Ireland. This seminar is the third in the series and will focus on how the learnings, recommendations and suggestions from previous sessions can be implemented so that we can &#x27;make it happen&#x27;.

The Research for Public Policy seminar series is a joint initiative of the Royal Irish Academy (RIA) and the Irish Research Council (IRC). We aim to ignite important conversations about why evidence-based policy matters and how to harness the diverse expertise of Ireland’s researchers for the common good. We are committed to strengthening and sustaining relationships between researchers, policymakers, and research funders beyond the series, so that together we can build and implement a highly effective national framework for integrating relevant and cutting-edge research into policy development across Government.
