Celebrating the 93rd anniversary of the first East to West Transatlantic flight that changed the world and an update on the Portlaoise Plane

<p>We look forward to welcoming you to our first virtual commemoration marking the incredible achievements of Col Fitzmaurice, the impact of the Portlaoise Plane during his formative years in Laois and the legacy of the Bremen flight.  Exact running order will be confirmed over the coming weeks but the evening will include ;</p><ul><li>A welcome from Teddy Fennelly; Chairman of the Col Fitzmaurice Commemoration Society</li><li>A short video to document ‘The Impossible Dream’ project - a specially commissioned suite of music by composer Martin Tourish  inspired by the life of Col James Fitzmaurice for the Music Generation Laois Trad Orchestra.  </li><li>Statements from The Irish Air Corp and the German Ambassador</li><li>An update on the restoration of the Portlaoise Plane</li></ul>
