Two musicians with long histories of performing original music join forces & create a quiet storm in the elegant surroundings of the Castle

This summer, on Thursday 28th August, two Irish musicians with longhistories of performing original music - both their own and in other bands -have decided to join forces and create a quiet storm in the beautifulsurroundings of Rathfarnham Castle. Dublin pianist, singer and songwriter Josh Johnston has had a 25 year careerrecording 6 albums of his own (and more in collaboration with others) andworking on stage and record with Kíla, Roesy, SJ McArdle, Noelie McDonnell(Whileaways) and others. With an evocative piano and compositional stylethat takes in folk, blues, jazz as well and rock and pop, his music has beenfeatured and playlist on national and local radio, and media, in particularhis recent album Reasons To Fly which was Marty Whelan’s album of theweek (RTE Lyric FM) when it was released. For well over a decade, Clara Rose has captivated audiences with herstunning voice and original music that blends rockin' blues with rootsyfolk. Having independently released her third live album, 'Live, LIVE, Love'to critical acclaim, Clara has graced national and international stages withher original folk, roots and powerhouse blues music. Armed with heracoustic guitar, Clara has shared stages with Celtic legends like Horslips,Henry McCullough, The Waterboys, and Eleanor McEvoy. Her performancesare nothing short of mesmerizing. She was a key part of the stage show,'Ladies in the Blues' playing hit shows at Cork Jazz Festival and Glastonburyas well as nationwide tours. Clara Rose &amp; Josh will perform in a round robin setting giving them both theopportunity to participate in each other’s songs. They will be joined on the evening by Dublin musician Cathy McEvoy.
