Galway, dedicated to one of Hollywood’s greatest directors John Ford whose parents hailed from the area. John Ford, winner of six Academy Awards and creator of classics such as The Quiet Man, The Searchers, and The Grapes of Wrath, shaped American cinema and inspired filmmakers worldwide.Féile John Ford, taking place in Spiddal from 5–7 September 2025, a three-day festival that brings his legacy home and honours his legacy through film screenings, talks, and exhibitions. By looking back at his extraordinary life and work, a new generation of storytellers will be inspired along Cois Fharraige and beyond. Come join us at Scoil Éinne for some special film screenings.
