About this event

Artist, Tom Campbell invites participants to be part of a 'Rubbish Performers' collective that will take to the streets on Friday Sept 17th for Culture Night in Cork City.

Two workshops will take place in the lead up to Culture night where costumes will be prepared from 'rubbish' and performers will be introduced to movement techniques and interactions with costumes and each other.

The “Rubbish” Performance is a mobile, urban intervention using recyclable and non-recyclable rubbish transformed into costumes for the performers.

First performed in Florence 1997, performers came together with whatever they wished and proceeded to get wrapped from head to toe to create “Rubbish” costumes.

Culture is Rubbish, Rubbish is Culture!

This performance will directly support the work of 'Trees Please' a Cork based voluntary environmental group that plants native Irish Trees
