Unleash your creativity with textile artist Sarah Buckley in three inspiring, hands-on workshops! Thursdays Oct 9, 16, 23 from 7pm - 9pm.Step away from the everyday and into a warm, supportive space where you can relax and discover the joy of stitching. Whether you're completely new to textiles and stitch or just want to try something fun and creative, these two-hour sessions are all about play, self-expression, and a little bit of fabric magic.You’ll start by learning a few simple embroidery stitches, then dive into colour, line, and form using pencils, markers and ink. Inspired by a landscape or photo that speaks to you, you’ll bring your ideas to life on fabric with stitch and appliqué—creating a beautiful, personal piece to take home and treasure.Come as you are—no experience needed, just a willingness to explore, experiment, and enjoy the process! All materials will be provided and it is necessary to attend both workshops.Week 1: Getting StartedTo kick things off, we will explore all the materials you need to dive into the world of stitch – hoop, needles, thread, fabric, and step-by-step instructions. We'll walk through how to use the tools and materials together, then get hands-on learning 4–5 essential stitches to build a strong foundation.Week 2: Finding InspirationThis week, you’ll bring in a photo that means something to you – it could be a favourite landscape, a special place, or a meaningful person. Using viewfinders, we’ll break the image down into lines and shapes, exploring its essence in a more abstract way. Through playful mark-making with pencils and markers you’ll start transforming your image into an expressive design for fabric.Week 3: Bringing Ideas to LifeTime to translate your vision into textile! Using raw edge appliqué, you’ll begin layering fabric to bring your design to life. We’ll experiment with texture, colour combinations, and thread thickness to add depth and personality to your piece. Expect to get creative and start seeing your unique stitched artwork take shape
