It's easier than you think to grow trees and shrubs from seed!Join us on Saturday afternoon, 18th October for a workshop with the excellent Linda Gilsenan, ecologist, where we will learn how to collect, process and propagate seeds and cuttings of our Native Irish Trees and Shrubs.We will discuss what native seed is ripe for collection and explore how to collect, treat and store this native seed. We will learn how to take hard wood cuttings of Wild Rose and Elder and plant them directly into our tree nursery. Finally, we will sow some native seed into our tree nursery and some pots to take home!This is suitable for anyone with an interest in nature. In particular for anyone who would like to learn pratical skills and knowledge to support nature friendly gardening. Bring gloves and wear warm outdoor clothes.Meet at the Parish Centre, St. Patrick's Church,Alma Place, Monkstown, Co Dublin A94 W584Children over 6 years of age are welcome but must be accompanied by adults. This free event is funded by Community Foundation Ireland. This event is free. Most of our nature events and activities get booked out. If you’d like to become a paid-up member and get priority access to them, it’s just €20 for family membership and €10 for individuals.
