Delivered online over six consecutive weeks, the course is suitable for beginners, those considering keeping bees, farmers exploring pollinator-friendly practices, and anyone with an interest in biodiversity and sustainable land management.
What the course covers
- Beekeeping basics and essential equipment
- The history and role of the honeybee
- Basic bee anatomy and colony structure
- Hive positioning, swarming and seasonal behaviour
- Common diseases, poisoning risks and prevention
- Harvesting honey
- Colony handling and ongoing management
