Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS) Dry Lab. Cathedral Eyecare - Mr Reid and Simon Lysaght of Glaukos
This educational session offers a comprehensive overview of Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS), focusing on its role in the management of glaucoma. Topics covered will include the efficacy of MIGS in intraocular pressure (IOP) control, its impact on reducing glaucoma medication requirements, and the associated improvement in ocular surface health. Optometrists will gain insight into current MIGS procedures through case discussions and surgical videos, enhancing their understanding of patient selection and referral pathways. A practical dry lab component will provide hands-on experience with MIGS techniques, including trabecular bypass stent insertion and Schlemm’s canal cannulation. This session aims to support optometrists in providing greater depth into surgical options available in secondary care settings to improve their glaucoma related referrals.
