Overview

Whistle-stop guide to securing research funding in Ireland: from idea to submission, covering eligibility, scoping, and application writing.

This session offers a "whistle stop" tour of how to secure research funding, from idea to submitted proposal. It covers key topics such as personal eligibility, horizon scanning of current funding programmes in Ireland, and how to scope a viable project in terms of duration, costs, and personnel.

Participants will also be guided through TU Dublin’s internal procedures, effective networking and collaboration strategies, and the step-by-step process of writing a strong funding application. This includes working with programme documents, defining aims and objectives, planning milestones and deliverables, structuring work-packages, and addressing impacts, gender dimensions, and data management requirements.
