For four years of full-scale invasion, Ukraine has been fighting for its sovereignty, freedom, and independence, serving as a shield for all of Europe. Despite immense losses, destroyed cities, and shattered lives, hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians continue to fight with resilience and determination, refusing to give up.Among those who have placed the defence of the country above their own comfort is the award-winning Ukrainian poetess and soldier Yaryna Chornohuz, who has been defending Ukraine since 2021.During the week of 16–20 February, on the eve of the fourth anniversary of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, Yaryna will visit Ireland, sharing her unique experience as a military woman and a poetess on the frontline with Irish audiences through a series of public events.On February 16, in conversation with the Dublin-based performer, composer and curator Olesya Zdorovetska, Yaryna will speak about “being at war” — as a woman, a poet, a soldier, and a mother.
