Webinar for Family Carers with Sharon McCarthy

Managing in the Moment is a practical session for family carers supporting autistic children and young people. Presented by Sharon McCarthy, this event focuses on those challenging, high-pressure moments at home or in the community. Sharon will share compassionate, strengths-based strategies to help carers better understand what’s going on, respond with confidence, and support regulation and wellbeing in the moment. This session is grounded in real-life experience and offers practical tools carers can take away and use straight away.Sharon McCarthy is a professional who has worked in the autism field in a number of capacities for over twenty years. She is both a qualified advocate and a childcare professional and she also holds a number of autism and disability specific qualifications. She is founding director of Autism Journeys Training and Consultancy service where she supports autistic children and young people and their families from both an advocacy and educational standpoint. Sharon is also parent to multiply identified autistic children for more than 25 years.All attendees to our events/courses/workshops may be contacted by a member of Family Carers Ireland team as we require information, to be held in confidence, for statistical purposes.
