Want to know more about Foetal Aclohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD)? Then this training is for you!

This 3-hour session will introduce the information on a number of areas, including:<ul><li>an overview of FASD</li></ul><ul><li>details of effects of prenatal alcohol exposure</li></ul><ul><li>the impact of FASD on children, young people and their families</li></ul><ul><li>how we can support those impacted and their families</li></ul><ul><li>alternative approaches and strategies to parenting/caring</li></ul><ul><li>barriers, signs and symptoms</li></ul><ul><li>navigating education</li></ul>This session will incorporate an introduction to the NVR (Non-violent Resistence) programme. NVR is designed to empower parents and carers to build a new authority and to resist engaging in conflict with a child/young person – and can often be useful when parenting, caring or supporting a child or young person with FASD.This session is open to parents and carers who would like to know more about FASD, it is also open to those who work with children and young people – regardless of profession.Presenter: Tristan Casson-Rennie (Director – FASD Ireland)This training is CPD accredited.
