Guiding the Way: Effective Leadership of RE in Catholic Primary Schools
DES Approved (EPV days) Online Summer Course
Thank you for your interest in our Online Summer Course!
Guiding the Way: Effective Leadership of RE in Catholic Schools is a Summer Course for Primary School Teachers which offers 3 EPV days to those who complete it. It is specifically designed for leaders in the area of RE e.g. Religious Education Coordinators and Principals.
This course is offered entirely online in an asynchronous fashion. As such, participants may access the course content at suitable times for themselves.
Those in leadership positions in RE are often heard to speak of the isolation which can be experienced in their role and whilst an asynchronous online course doesn't offer much opportunity to connect, we will do out uptmost to enhance connectivity, including offering live online sessions at various times throughout the delivery period for those who wish to connect in that way. Please note that participation in such sessions is entirely voluntary and not a requirement for EPV days.
The course commences on Wednesday July 1st and its content is available until July 10th. In accordance with DES requirements, participants are expected to spend at least 20 hours engaging with the course content (both online and in other self verifiable ways). Assessment forms part of the course. Regular support is available from the tutors delivering the course.
The course tutors are affiliates of the Mater Dei Centre for Catholic Education at DCU and the course is designed and delivered by the RE team at MDCCE- Dr David Kennedy, Vivek da SIlva and Dr Cora O'Farrell.
