Irish Research Evidence: Best Practice Guidelines for Contacts Between Parents and Young Children Post Separation

Join One Family's Separating Well for Children Project Team as they support front line practitioners to unpack this invaluable resource - Best Practice Guidelines for Contact Between Parents & Infants/Young Children Post Separation

Stephanie Holt et al., carried out this research on behalf of One Family in 2022 and developed the Best Practice Guidance (booklet form) for parents/practitioners to help them keep children at the centre of all decisions affecting their day to day care and arrangements post separation. One Family have been engaged directly with hundreds of separated families (children and parents) in this Tusla funded project since Jan 2018 and can share many case examples to support front line practitioners in making the Guidance document very tangible and easy to work throught with parents. One Family understand the challenges parents have as they navigate the high levels of interparental conflict post separation that often unintentionally shift parents gaze away from the needs of the child into the ongoing conflict of separation.

The Separation Networks 2024 Resource | Practitioners Toolkit Supporting Front Line Work is the Front Line Practitioners booklet, further unpacking the Guidance Document
