The Separation Network offer a range of training events over the year to front line practitioners working to support children and parents post separation.

Offered through the Separation Network, this full day online workshop, Vicarious Trauma and Compassion Fatigue: The Cost of Caring, supports practitioners working with vulnerable young children and families facing challenges like housing instability, financial stress, and family violence. Frequent exposure to trauma can lead to secondary stress for caregivers, impacting their resilience and well-being. This one-day interactive session equips participants to recognize and address vicarious trauma and compassion fatigue, fostering personal resilience and a sustainable approach to compassionate care. Through this training, the Separation Network aims to strengthen community support for both caregivers and families, promoting positive outcomes for children post separation. Your Trainer: Patricia Allen-Garrett, BSc (Hons) Psychology, MSc Counselling &amp; Psychotherapy, Dip Counselling &amp; Psychotherapy (MIAHIP, ECP)Patricia works as a humanistic and integrative psychotherapist in private practice and is also engaged in groupwork with people who have attempted suicide or who are struggling with suicidal ideation for the mental health organisation Suicide or Survive (SOS). She also facilitates a programme for SOS for people who are supporting people with mental health difficulties.
