Join us at AFTA’s Open Day on Saturday, 8th August 2026 and take your first step into the world of aviation.

This event is designed for prospective students interested in becoming a Commercial Pilot, obtaining a Private Pilot Licence (PPL), or for anyone with a general interest in aviation.
Suitable for ages 14+, it’s the perfect opportunity to explore what a future in aviation could look like.

Introduction to AFTA
Learn about Ireland’s premier flight school and the full range of pilot training programmes, including:

• AFTA programmes
• Ryanair Mentored Programme
• VistaJet pathway
• ASL Ireland Mentored Programme
• Modular and Private Pilot Licence training options

Aircraft & Flightline Experience
Get up close with our training fleet, including:

• Diamond DA42
• Cessna 172
• ALSIM DA42 Simulator demonstrations

Boeing 737 Simulator Experience

• Step into our Fixed Base Boeing 737 simulator
• Gain insight into the final stage of airline training
• Opportunity to take the controls (subject to availability)
