Rowan Pierce, soprano

Rebecca Leggett, mezzo-soprano

Alex Potter, counter-tenor

Rodrigo Carreto, tenor

Matthew Brook, bass

Bach's 'Mass in B Minor' is an extraordinary work, completed a year before Bach's death. The magnificence of this piece still shines brightly today, through both the serenity and deep contemplation of quieter moments juxtaposed with glorious celebration.

The Olivier Award-winning Irish Baroque Orchestra is acclaimed as Ireland's time-travelling orchestra. Under the artistic direction of Peter Whelan, scholarship and musical excellence converge in a unique way through the IBO’s work. This creates an original offering like no other organisation on the Irish classical music scene. Through this integration of research and practice the very idea of an orchestra is defined afresh, providing an unusual and enriching experience for today’s audiences.

The phenomenal voices of IBO's own Choir join for this performance.

The Irish Baroque Orchestra is generously funded by the Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon. This performance is given with kind support from an anonymous donor.
