A children's education and craft workshop with Francesca Cadeddu focused on Viking life, taking place in the chapel of Swords Castle.

Let’s go back in time together to discover how people lived during the Viking times in Ireland. You will be transported back to Viking Dublin and hear all about the many aspects of the daily life of Irish Viking children and adults, from making clothes to producing food to building boats. The workshop includes a hands-on art class where you will learn to weave your own bookmark or coaster with colourful wool. While weaving away, you will be transported to Viking Ireland by an original story about a child who lived in Dublin more than a thousand years ago.This workshop will take place in the chapel during the Fingal Food market and we will learn about what the Vikings sold at their markets! Francesca Cadeddu is an archaeologist and is also a specialist within the Heritage in School programme: in the last 3 years she delivered more than 200 workshops all around Ireland bringing Irish history and archaeology back to life for the kids.
