Who is Beyond Surviving for?

Beyond Surviving is a survivor-led charity in Ireland for adult women affected by domestic, sexual and gender-based violence. We are a community, where survivors can connect with others who understand, without judgement or needing to explain.

What happens after I register?

Once you register, we'll email you to arrange a short introductory call with a member of the Beyond Surviving team. This informal 15-minute conversation is an opportunity for us to get to know one another, explain a little more about Beyond Surviving and answer any questions you may have.

Where exactly is this support group being held?

Dublin 9. You'll find out more when we meet with you for our introductory call. You'll only have do to this for your first support group attendance.

Do I have to share?

No, in fact, it’s common for first-time attendees to simply sit, listen and participate in silence, whilst still walking away feeling a little lighter in knowing they are not alone. Usually, after a group or two, survivors begin to feel more comfortable to share in the conversations.

Will this be a regular event?

Yes, on a monthly basis. Same venue, same time, we'll confirm the date or check back here on our Eventbrite or on our website.

What about venue, accessibility & parking?

Held in safe, accessible, and confidential venues. There’s no sign outside that tells anyone what you’re here for. Venues are accessible to anyone with accessibility needs, they’re within close proximity to public transport and there's free parking facilities at our venue.

What if I know someone?

Given Ireland’s size and the prevalence of domestic and sexual violence, it is possible you may know another survivor within our community. One thing to know though is everyone in our community agrees to “what’s said in the room, stays in the room”.
