Heritage Week 2026: Marlfield Walk with Ink Workshop

Beginning in the historic village of Marlfield, participants will explore the area's remarkable heritage, including St Patrick's Well, the former Church of Ireland church containing medieval stonework and carvings from the nearby abbey, and the surrounding landscape. Along the way, the guide Neil Dennehy will explore local history, biodiversity and the connections between people and place.

Following the walk, participants will take part in an oak gall ink workshop with artist Annie Hogg, discovering how this historic writing ink was traditionally made using natural materials gathered from the landscape.

This free event forms part of Hands of Heritage 2026, Tipperary Museum of Hidden History's award-winning programme celebrating traditional craft skills, biodiversity and living heritage.
