Lisa Hannigan is an Irish singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and voice actor whose solo career has spanned almost two decades. Since the release of her debut album, Sea Sew, in 2008, she has become one of Ireland's most distinctive musical voices.Sea Sew earned nominations for both the Choice Music Prize and the Mercury Prize, establishing Hannigan as a singular songwriting talent. She followed with Passenger (2011) and At Swim(2016), both of which were met with widespread critical acclaim, before releasing Live in Dublin in 2019, recorded at Dublin's National Concert Hall with the contemporary-classical collective s t a r g a z e.Alongside her solo work, Hannigan has collaborated with an eclectic range of artists, including Ray LaMontagne, Richard Hawley, The National, Bon Iver, Ed Sheeran, Herbie Hancock, and Glen Hansard.Beyond her own recordings, Hannigan has lent her voice to a wide range of film and television projects. She made her acting debut as Bronagh the mermaid in the Oscar-nominated animated feature Song of the Sea, while her vocals have featured on the soundtracks to the acclaimed television series Fargo and Alfonso Cuarón's Academy Award-winning film Gravity. Most recently, she collaborated with composer Steve Price on the score for David Attenborough's Emmy-nominated documentary Ocean.
