Free, 4-week series of interactive, resilience building workshops for women carers, aged 54+.
This programme offers carers aged 54+, the opportunity to work on building personal resilience in a supportive environment. Led by experts and informed by evidence-based practice, the programme combines insights from counselling psychology and recent research findings in health psychology, complemented by practical, real-world advice.
The goal is to support carers to develop improved self-care practice, discover new techniques for stress management and learn how to implement health behaviour change successfully, empowering carers to build greater resilience within the context of their own lives. The workshops will be supported by a workbook and resources, facilitating carers to make meaningful but manageable changes at their own pace, over the longer term. The workshops will be facilitated by Psychologist, Dr Vivienne Howard.
The programme was commissioned by the Department of Health, Women’s Health Fund and developed in conjunction with Family Carers Ireland Counselling Service.
