Course Outline
All Coaches, Club Children’s Officers (CCO) and Designated Liaison Persons (DLP) must complete the 3 hour Child Welfare & Protection Basic Awareness Workshop. This workshop educates participants on the implementation of best practice in safeguarding the welfare of children involved in sport. This workshop is recommended for coaches, parents and volunteers involved with young people in sport. It is certified by Sport Ireland.
Course Aims
- To ensure adults have adequate training to protect the welfare of children in a sporting environment
- To assist in creating a child-centered environment within the sports club setting
- It provides introductory information on codes of conduct, bullying, recruitment, etc. as well as child protection guidelines.
Upon the completion of your safeguarding workshop, your details will be uploaded onto a site called Sport80 by Kerry Recreation & Sports Partnership. This site will generate a Sport Ireland Digital Certificate which is valid for 3 years.
Cost: €20 plus booking fee
