Tending to the Wildflower Areas at Vesey Park. Learning by doing Workshop
Learn how to manage wildflower areas by doing! Led by Linda Gilsenan, Ecologist, we’ll tend to these areas in the park.
Led by Linda Gilsenan, Ecologist, we’ll tend to the wildflower areas in Vesey Park. We’ll rake off last year’s growth and plant in wildflower plugs. These plugs have been grown from locally collected seed by our volunteers.
Monkstown Village Tidy District has been working to develop wildflower habitats around the edge of Vesey Park for a couple of years. This workshop continues this work of enhancing these areas while we all learn how to manage a wild area in our own gardens.
This workshop is part of a day long event tending to Vesey Park. In the morning 10.30 -12 there is a guided walk with Linda investigating the habitats for nature in the park and how we will manage the invasive species which are colonizing some these spaces. Book into a the morning walk as well and come for the day and bring a picnic.
Study footwear, gloves and outdoor gear are recommended. Any children attending must be accompanied by an adult
Meet in top part of Vesey Park, Dun Laoghaire opposite Number 3 Vesey Place.
