Survivor-led Support Group. A safe space to connect with fellow survivors of sexual violence and domestic who understand and 'get it'.
Peer support group in Castlebar, Co. Mayo for survivors to connect and meet with other survivors who understand and 'get it'. For adult women affected by sexual violence and domestic abuse, once per month in a safe, supportive and survivor-led space.
What to Expect:
- Safe & intentionally small space
Small groups of up to 10 survivors and two trained peer-facilitators with lived experience. - Lightly structured
Two trained peer-facilitators, who are survivors themselves, gently guide each group, with space for organic connection and conversation. - Participant-led
You don't have to share, and never in detail. Many people choose to simply listen at their first group and still walk away having gained something. There's no rush or pressure. - Shared group guidelines
All participants follow our shared group guidelines, ensuring these spaces remain respectful and safe for all. - Secure, discreet, accessible, and neutral venue
We never share the location of our groups publicly, and there is no external signage indicating the nature of the group. Exact location details are shared privately after registration is complete. - Venue parking and transport
Parking is free of charge, and the venue is close to public transport. - Intentionally informal
It's completely normal to feel nervous before your first support group. Participants are welcomed by one of our facilitators and offered tea, coffee and a few little freebies to help you settle in. You can expect a calm, non-formal setting. Participants are welcomed by one of our facilitators and offered a cup of tea or coffee to help you settle in.
We look forward to welcoming you (spaces are limited to 10 max). 🧡
