This session updates Ireland’s AML landscape and explores wider financial crime risks and compliance obligations firms face in 2026.
All commercial entities are required to comply with the law and may be targeted for financial crime. While many regulated entities fall under the definition of Designated Person in the Criminal Justice (Money Laundering & Terrorist Financing) Act 2010, others do not. For example, financial brokers or retail intermediaries who only provide General Insurance services are not Designated Persons, but this does not mean they are immune from financial crime risk or wider regulatory expectations.
The introduction of the EU’s new AML framework, the establishment of AMLA, and growing regulatory focus across Europe mean that all entities must be aware of their obligations and the broader expectations placed upon them.
This 2‑hour CPD session will outline the key updates in AML for 2026, including developments under the EU AML Package, and will also cover other financial crime areas such as sanctions, bribery and corruption, and practical risk considerations for regulated firms.
