Join us for a discussion on AI and Fairness.

In 2021, Science Gallery Dublin partnered with Accenture’s global R&amp;D and innovation center, The Dock, on a Curator-in-Residency programme, that commissioned international artists to co-create work mutually benefiting both the scientific research and the artistic practice, and focused on taking a deeper look at how AI is increasingly being used to make decisions that impact our lives. The result was the piece in BIAS titled ‘Most Likely To Succeed’ and to create this interactive installation, artists Risa Puno &amp; Alex Taylor worked with researchers at Accenture Labs to understand the challenges and possible solutions of making AI more fair and less biased. To mark the culmination of this partnership, Science Gallery Dublin and Accenture’s The Dock are bringing together an international panel to discuss AI and fairness, and how it can be defined. How can we ensure that AI systems themselves, and the decisions based on their predictions, are fair? And how should we define ‘fairness’ in the first place? The event is hosted by Science Gallery and Accenture Labs @ The Dock, featuring Medb Corcoran, Managing Director of Accenture Labs Dublin, in a live conversation with interactive installation artist <a href="https://www.risapuno.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Risa Puno</a>, and <a href="https://www.milopb.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Milo Phillips-Brown</a> of Oxford’s Institute for Ethics in AI.
