Tipperary,Finding a Voicepresents concerts of music spanning eras and genres,  in celebration of International Women’s Day, 8th March.AboutFounded in 2017 by sisters Róisín and Cliona Maher, over the past eight years Finding a Voice has featured music by hundreds of women composers, from Hildegard of Bingen to newly commissioned works, and performances from leading Irish and international musicians. Finding a Voice 2022 is 8 concerts over 5 days in Clonmel, Co. Tipperary from Thursday 3 to Tuesday 8 March 2022. Check out the individual concerts or treat yourself to a Day Pass  or Festival Pass and hear some unforgettable music by remarkable women.

Join us for this final concert of Finding a Voice 2022 and celebrate creativity on International Women&#x27;s Day. With music by Lili Boulanger (1893–1919) and a newly commissioned song cycle by Ailís Ní Ríain (b.1974), singer Julie Comparini, pianist Yonit Kosovske, and poet Jessica Brown bring to life the words of poets in the beautiful song recital Reflections, where songs and poetry intermingle.Watershed is a new song cycle for voice and piano inspired by the natural bodies of water and land in Ireland’s mid-west region and along the Atlantic coast. With music by renowned Irish composer Ailís Ní Ríain and text by Killaloe resident and poet Jessica Brown, it is a song cycle inextricably rooted in place and in nature. Central to the song-texts—which are taken from Jessica’s collection, And Say (Revival Press, Limerick 2019)—are themes informed by the writer’s personal interaction with water and the surrounding landscapes in counties Clare and Tipperary. The Watershed song cycle was commissioned by Yonit Kosovske with funding from the Arts Council Music Commissions Award in 2020. Intermingled with poetry read by Jessica Brown from her collection And Say, will be the words of Maurice Maeterlinck, Georges Delaquys, and Bertha Galeron de Calonne as set to music by French composer Lili Boulanger (1893-1918) in her Quatre Chants (1911-1916).Ailís Ní Ríain is an Irish composer and writer who aims to produce work that challenges, provokes and engages. Her work has been performed across Europe, in Israel, Brazil, USA and Japan and broadcast on BBC and RTÉ. Described as &#x27;a significant talent&#x27; (The Irish Times), Ailís works broadly in the areas of concert music, music installation, opera and music­-theatre, and has collaborated with writers, dancers, visual artists, filmmakers, techologists and theatre artists.
