Talk on the Postal Strike of 1922

On the centenary of the 1922 Postal Strike Dr. Mary Muldowney, Dublin City Council Historian in Residence will  give a commemorative talk.

Mary&#x27;s talk will be titled; “It is easy to dip one’s hand into the taxpayer’s pocket but it is neither honest nor manly.” Postmaster General J.J. Walsh’s deployment of the military and police in the 1922 Postal Strike.We will also launch a collection of documents from the Irish Labour History Society which wil be available on the Digital Repository of Ireland (DRI.ie). These documents have been digitised by Dublin City Library and Archive and include: <ul><ul><li>The Irish Trades Union Congress and Labour Party Minutes Book 1917 - 1921.</li><li>Minutes of meetings of the Council of the Irish Citizen Army February 1919 to September 1920. </li><li>Documents from the Postal Strike 1922 Archive.</li></ul></ul>[Image from &quot;The Graphic&quot; newspaper 16 September 1922.
