A deepfake drag double act! Me The Drag Queen and Jake Elwes present a unique show about queerness, cabaret and technology.

In keeping with Science Week 2022&#x27;s theme of Infinite Possibilities, ‘Zizi &amp; Me’ is a double act between drag queen &#x27;Me The Drag Queen&#x27;, and a deepfake (A.I.) clone of &#x27;Me The Drag Queen&#x27;, featuring special guests! By training a neural network on filmed footage this network learnt to construct a virtual body that can be controlled by feeding it new reference movements. Through drag performance, we aim to use cabaret and musical theatre to challenge narratives surrounding A.I. and society.The performance of &#x27;Zizi &amp; Me&#x27; will be accompanied by a talk by project artist Jake Elwes, who will discuss what AI can teach us about drag, and what drag can teach us about A.I.D﻿oors at 4:30pm, the event starts at 5pm.The Zizi Project (2019 - ongoing) is a collection of works by Jake Elwes exploring the intersection of Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) and drag performance. Drag challenges gender and explores otherness, while A.I. is often mystified as a concept and tool, and is complicit in reproducing social bias. Zizi combines these themes through a deepfake, synthesised drag identity created using machine learning.Science Week is a week-long event in Ireland each November, celebrating science in our everyday lives. Science Week includes a wide variety of events involving industry, colleges, schools, libraries, teachers, researchers and students throughout Ireland. Science Week has a number of regional festivals offering a range of opportunities for the public to engage with STEM in across Ireland. For Science Week 2022, we are asking people to explore the infinite possibilities of science.
