Story? International Student Documentary Symposium

Story? – International Student Documentary Festival, the only international student documentary film festival of its kind in Ireland. The fifth version of the festival will take place in April 2023 in Cork City, Ireland.The festival is run by the Crawford College of Art and Design, at Munster Technological University (MTU), in association with MTU’s Arts Office.We screen two main types of student documentary – documentaries and animations that have a documentary element. In the festival, we have screened documentaries from Cork, Ireland in general, the UK, Europe, the USA, South America, Asia and Africa.

STORY?- International Student Documentary Festival is one of a kind. We showcase the work of young and passionate filmmakers worldwide and are a hub for inclusivity, creativity, social engagement and expertise. ‘STORY?’ offers young 3rd-level student filmmakers the first stepping stone into the film industry and introduces them to a respectful and passionate filmmaker community. We emphasise original storytelling and showcase students’ work during a three-day festival in beautiful Cork City.We are delighted to invite you to join the storytellers and film-making professionals for a Symposium at Saint Fin Barre's Cathedral on Thursday the 20th of April 2023 starting at 2:30 pm.The event is free of charge but booking is required.Join us for a dynamic and informative symposium focused on the art and craft of filmmaking. Our symposium will feature a lineup of accomplished filmmakers and industry experts who will share their experiences, insights, and strategies for creating compelling films that resonate with audiences.The symposium is split into two segments. During the first part, successful filmmakers will give presentations based on real-life examples. The second part of the symposium will consist of a Q&A session.Following the symposium, a networking opportunity with refreshments is organised at the Crawford College of Arts and Design.‘Story?’ is supported by the MTU Arts Office CREATE Le Chéíle Arts, Project Fund.
