Professor Edward Glaeser, Fred and Eleanor Glimp Professor of Economics in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Harvard University, will speak on "A World of Cities"<ul><li>June 17th at 17.30</li><li>Joly Lecture Theatre, Hamilton Building, Trinity College Dublin</li></ul>About the LectureProfessor Glaeser will discuss the role that cities play in the world from the success of urban areas in the west to the rapid transformation of the developing world into urbanized areas. He will discuss the benefits that these processes have yielded as well as the tremendous challenges that continue ahead. Professor Glaeser has published a wide range of research in the field of urban economics, studying cities, economic growth, and law in economics. In particular his work has focused on the determinants of city growth and the role of cities as centers of idea transmission.
