Do I need to be a great cyclist?

Accepted Answer

No, we plan the trip to make plenty of stops throughout the day. We will organise some training spins in advance and we would like to think you would be capable of cyling ~100km without support. The main thing is we leave together on the day and all arrive together too.

Question 2

What kind of Bike do I need to take part?

Accepted Answer

We recommend a road bike for cycling ont he day. In previous years people have attempted it on hybrids or mountain bikes but these can increase risk of accidents and also will potentially be slower.

Question 3

What about if I get a puncture or something breaks?

Accepted Answer

We will have a mechanic in the support team to help with any issues encountered. It's a long cycle so the odd puncture or chain coming off is inevitable. We can get you in a van, fix the bike and back to the group in no time.

Question 4

Do I need to bring food?

Accepted Answer

No we partner with Christophes in Smithfield who provide a substantial lunch on the day, as well as this we will have snacks (fruit, jellies, flapjacks etc.) set up at every stop throughout the day (~5)

What about accomodation in Portrush?

Accepted Answer

Keep an eye on the Equinoxcycle.com site, this si where we post our partner accomodation, we tend to reserve rooms ina  hotel close to the finish at a preferred rate so we can all be together.

Question 6

When will i get my jersey?

Accepted Answer

We usually give them out on the morning of the cycle, this si still the plan, if we need to change this those taking part will be notified.
