Is your teen/tween making the move to secondary school this year.

Who is more anxious your child, mum or dad? Are you cncerned that they may not settle , may not enjoy it, find the new subjects and teachers hard to navigate?? Many will be excited to meet new friends and open the next chapter in their lives. Many will be anxious and skeptical . Parents play a pivotal role in this transition and all the reseach tells us that the key to a smooth move is preparation.

At the end of this webinar you will leave wiht a plan of support in place, understanding the common fears students have, what you can do as a parent to support your child in the first few months of secondary school and how you can plan for the move over the summer months.

Melissa Moore is an Accredited Play and Creative Arts Therapist, Parenting Consultant, Trainer and Clinical Supervisor. Melissa has over 28 years experience of working with young people and their families who present with emotional and behavioural difficulties many of whom have experienced trauma. Melissa has worked with many well known names such as AIB, Irish Fiary Door Company, Fingal County Council, Library Services and regulary appears on LMFM radio.

Melissa facilitates workshops on a range of topics to support children, parents and professionals alike and has a very busy private practice. in County Meath. Melissa has been successfully supporting 6th class pupils transitioning to secondary school for the last number of years, facilitating preparatory workshops.

Melissa is well known for her role in promoting positive mental health for children and adolescents in the North East region and is a member of IPTCA and PTIrl. and listed on Professional Standards Authority (PSA)
