Fire, pain, tears then life!  An honest and intimate piece of theatre about the experience of childbirth.

We hope that you will join us for this original devised theatre performance about labour and birth as experienced by two women. Developed and performed by Gráinne Curistan, Berlinda Mapa and Helen McGrath: directed by Gráinne Curistan. The performance is a production created as part of the European Researchers’ Night 2023 and inspired by the research carried out at the Trinity Centre for Maternal Care Research (TCMCR). Each event will have a running time of approximately 35 minutes: 15 minute performance followed by a 20 minute panel discussion. The performance will be the same at both 5.30pm and 6.30pm however the panel discussion may differ, depending on questions or comments from the audience.Doors open at 5pmPerformance 1 starts at 5:30pm sharpPerformance 2 starts at 6:30pm sharpP﻿lease note:<ol><li>Attendees will be ushered to the performance area 5 minutes before the performance begins.</li><li>The performances will begin at 5.30pm and 6.30pm sharp.</li><li>Once the performance begins, latecomers will not be admitted to the performance area.</li><li>Mobile phones should be switched off (not just switched to silent mode) for the duration of the performance and panel discussion.</li><li>No filming or photography allowed - official event photographs will be taken throughout the evening.</li><li>Please refrain from talking or opening noisy food wrappers during the live performance.</li><li>Tea, coffee and light refreshments will be available 5pm-7.30pm in the foyer</li></ol>The School of Nursing and Midwifery is not located on the main TCD campus.
