“You are the music while the music lasts” - T.S. ElliotUpstairs at The White Horse is an intimate black box music venue. We regularly host national and international artists as well as theatre productions and comedy nights. It is also home to The Ballincollig Winter Music Festival which takes place every January.

The White Horse

Rescheduled date of Songsmiths, where the finest song crafters take us on a journey and share their most intimate compositions.

Rebel Frequencies is proud to premiere "Songsmiths", where the audience can experience some of the finest singer songwriters hone their craft in the most intimate of settings on The White Horse stage. We are delighted to welcome Seánie Bermingham, Clodagh Quirke and Sinker John for our debut event.

Seánie Bermingham is a Dublin-based folk artist, whose expressive lyrics and intricate musical arrangements cultivate unique soundscapes which speak to feelings of heartbreak, anxiety, and acceptance. With influences ranging from Sufjan Stevens to Fionn Regan, Seánie’s songwriting and performances are marked by an intimate sincerity which can be felt in the most elaborate swells and the sparsest whispers. This range of emotion is given its fullest expression as a live
performance, being described as equal parts confessional, upbeat, moving, and tender.

Fresh off the back of her headline Rebel Frequencies gig, we are delighted to have Clodagh Quirke come back so soon to grace our stage. The Cork based singer-songwriter grew up in Passage West with an obvious grá for music, playing in every choir and music group that was available to her. From a young age, she was brought along to gigs by The Waterboys, Finbarr Furey, Mary Coughlan, Bob Dylan and Neil Young, so she definitely had a good music education growing up !

If you were to put a label on Clodagh’s music, it would be known as ‘Some Sort Of Indie Folk Rock’…she just hasn’t decided yet.
Her influences are very evident in her writing, these would include Mick Flannery, David Keenan, Glen Hansard and Damien Rice.

Clodagh has just released her debut EP - ‘The House on the Hill’ which delves into the topics of life struggles for many folks.
Her lyrics have been described as “a string of words that everyone needs to hear”

“A jaw dropping performance” - Sarah Horgan *The Echo

“Powerful Stuff” - Jack Lukeman

Sinker John returns to the world of songwriting with a batch of brand new songs which will be released on his upcoming debut album "Bleed like the Bone". A published songwriter and well known guitar player, Sinker John's songs are what you get when you mix a lover of Folk, Rock, Classical and sound art into a bowl. His heart, through his songs, will always be found on his sleeve and he hopes you will find it there too.
