<h3>“When she gets it, what will she do with it?”</h3> A talk for International Women’s Day commemorating Women voting for the first time in a General Election in Ireland.With the ending of the First World War in November 1918, and the threat of conscription over, a General Election was called for 14 December – the first held in eight long years scarred by war and revolution. This would be an election like no other. Women were both candidates and voters for the first time.
