Bridget’s organic farm at the Holy Well in Dromard is a hill sheep farm diversifying to a nature-based enterprise focusing on bees, seeds and trees. Part of the farm is owned and part is commonage. As decades of mono grazing by sheep ends, plants and habitats long suppressed are re-emerging. The starting point with the diversification is to understand and map the farm’s ecosystem and its condition, its quality, quantity and connectivity. The farm walk will be designed for teams of attendees to map the biodiversity in the different habitats: streams, grassland, mixed heath and blanket bog on the owned and commonage land.
