54th AONTAS Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2024

10am-1pm (registration 9.30am)

The Annual General Meeting will be a hybrid event held in person and broadcast online. To proactively engage in the meeting, we encourage members to attend in person if possible.

The AGM is intended for AONTAS members. If you are unsure if your membership is up-to-date, or if you wish to vote without attending in-person or online, please contact bdesmond@aontas.com

This year's event will feature Dr Bríd Connolly as our keynote speaker, thought-provoking roundtable discussions and the presentation of the AONTAS Annual Report 2023.

The theme this year is 'What's Holding Us Back? Moving Forward with Tackling Barriers To Adult Education'.

The agenda includes:

  • Presentation of 2023 Annual Report
  • Presentation of 2023 Annual Accounts
  • Thought-provoking roundtable discussions
  • An exciting keynote speaker, to be announced!

AONTAS is Ireland’s National Adult Learning Organisation for adult and community education providers and adult learners. It promotes the value and benefits of adult learning, and advocates on behalf of the adult and community education sector. Founded in 1969, it is an independent NGO, with 400 members nationwide. In addition to promoting adult learning in Ireland, AONTAS is the national coordinating body for the European Agenda for Adult Learning, which is aimed at increasing participation in lifelong learning across the EU, enhancing policies and supports for adult learners, and gathering and disseminating best practices.
